CHAPTER III

Revelation 6:1 through 7:17

The Seals

(Revelation 6:1-8)

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pan of balances in his hand.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

The first four seals are tied by the invitation ACome and see@. The beasts (the living ones) are the redeemed of all people and are tied to the twenty four elders. When they glorify God the elders fall down (see Revelation 4:9). They cast crowns before the throne to the feet of the Lamb (the church). The crowns represent the authority of God (Gold) given to the overcoming church. This Acrown of life@1 is shared by the church as they give invitation to the lost to ACome and see.@ The horses are representative of the first two redemptive levels of ministry. Zechariah revealed this Afor the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.@2 The scroll written on the front and back represents the double witness of without and within, Ain the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.@3 AFor where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.@4

The First and Third Seal

The first redemptive level is represented by the white horse and the black horse. White and black are the two ends of all that is visible to the natural eye. White is a reflection of all light while black is the absorption of all light. Led by the spirit, they were revealed in twos by Ezekiel, AAs for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.@5 In ministry, the right hand of fellowship precedes the left hand.

The face of the Lion who reflects Athe lion of the tribe of Judah@ and the voice of thunder witnesses to the ministry of the righteous which come forth equipped for the distant battle (the bow is a weapon of distance). The black horse carrying the balances represents the word of judgement. Christ in us is the Judgement! AKnow ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobate?@6 The word Areprobate@ means Awithout judgement@. Many in this level will leave their first love as they are enticed to look without instead of within for the hope of glory. Many settle for one measure of bread instead of the three measures which represents full redemption, when the same penny (a days wage of measured bread in John=s day) would have acquired either. The oil refers to the anointing, while the wine (new wine when shared with the Lamb) reflects the abundant life given by him. The warning Anot to hurt@ is given to those of this level who speak against the baptism of the Holy Ghost. As they point to their crown and shake their bows at those who would dare to go a little higher in the call of ACome and see.@

The Second and Fourth Seal

The second level of redemption given to Aas many as received him, to them gave he power@7, is represented by the red and pale (green) horses. They received the great sword of the word, Athe letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.@8 AFor the word is sharper then any two-edged sword.@9 The ministry at this level was revealed to Zechariah as Athey whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.@10

The pale horse or green of this level of redemption engages the last two enemies of the church in the earth realm of the spirit. The Antichrist, through spiritual delusion, has taken the reins of many as his direction is death and hell. The pale (green) horse is prophetically protected as the word, Acommanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing.@11 The >green= of this scripture could be written >pale= since they are the same word in the Greek!

The strong delusion will cause many ministries to forsake the right way, and are gone astray, Awhich have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity; the dumb ass speaking with man=s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.@12 Jesus spoke of these as the contamination of the church of Pergamos (see Revelation 2:14). Zechariah spoke of this day with, AI will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.@13 The prophets of Jezebel will be Athe blind leading the blind.@ This doctrine will come to light as the church walks into the third level of redemption signified by the fifth and sixth seals.

The Fifth Seal

(Revelation 6:9-17)

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.

And the stars of Heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The first revelation that John sees is the altar and the souls slain for the word of God, and the testimony which they held. The altar of incense was taken behind the veil on the day of atonement by the high priest once each year. These souls covered by the covenant of Moses were waiting for the manifestation of the Lamb of God. This >remnant seed= receive their robes of righteousness as they enter into the day of rest when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed in flaming fire taking vengeance on the unknowing disobedient. As the church, in this third realm of redemption, opens the sixth seal the earthquake and the blackened sun and the moon as blood signified the wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth. AAnd I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.@14

Peter spoke of this time as a surprise for some of the unprepared, Athe day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.@15 The >elements= are the orderly arrangement of spiritual traditions. The fire of God will try every mans work. The man made heavens created by visions of rapture will melt as the fervent heat of the appearing Lord with his mighty angels and church, cleanse and consume the tares planted by the evil one. These of this realm have come out from form and fashion and tradition, having followed the Lamb without regard for the flesh. This realm was seen when Jesus said, Acome ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while.@16 AAnd when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat. He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. And they sat down in ranks, by hundred, and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to the heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. And they did all eat, and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.@17 The bread and meat furnished by the word will sustain those who come to the green (pale) grass of this anointing in the Lord. They will be arranged by the Lord as they are as Asheep without a shepherd,@18 or one with the Lamb.

ASeeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.@19

Isaiah as he seen the tribulation of this time said, AHowl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man=s heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.@20 The righteous Lamb, Christ with his church, will be able to stand!

(Revelation 7:1-4)

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

The wind that will be held is from the Greek word AAER@, which relates to Abreath@. This is the same AAER@ that Paul revealed in I Thessalonians 4:17 as the meeting place of the caught up church. This spiritual realm will come to Arest@ as the full name is revealed to the servants. This spiritual label engraved in flesh identifies us as the Lamb=s book of Life.

(Revelation 7:5)

Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

Jesus has founded the church out of Judah which means Apraise@. Reuben, the first born to Jacob, means Abehold a son@ and Gad means Aa troop@. The first pearl or gate can be related to the army of the Lord beholding and praising Jesus. Having put on the full armor for the battle ahead.

(Revelation 7:6)

Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

Aser means Ahappy@ while Nepthalim means Ahe who wrestles@ and Manasses means Aforgetfulness@. This second pearl or gate relates to those who have struggled with the carnal mind to reach the joy that gives strength.

(Revelation 7:7)

Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

Simeon means Ahearkening@ while Levi means Ajoined@ and Issachar means Awages@. These with faith, which comes by hearing, joined with Jesus are receiving the reward of their wages. They make up the third pearl.

(Revelation 7:8)

Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

Zabulon means Ahabitation@ while Joseph means Ahe shall add@ and Benjamin means Ason of the right hand@. These portray the living tabernacle being increased as God adds to the glory of the coming Lamb.

(Revelation 7:9-12)

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God.

Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

The great multitude of servants clothed in righteousness (white robes) have come to unity in praise, as they exalt Jesus as both Lord and Christ. The palms in their hands relates to AHosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.@21 The palms are also symbolic of the Feast of Tabernacles, Aand ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. And ye shall keep it a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.@22

The tribulation of the days of the third measure of redemption is a result of the church walking through judgement. Jesus said, AI am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!@23 This baptism is reserved for those who have come through the second realm of redemption, >the baptism of the Holy Ghost=. John the Baptist had prophesied that Jesus would baptize with the AHoly Ghost and with fire.@ He indicated that the fire would burn the chaff which is the covering of the wheat that is loosened by shaking the wheat (see Matthew 3:11-12). This trying and cleansing of the church Jesus spoke of, Asuppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.@24 The church, as the Lamb, will come to full maturity as the ascending angel of the East seals the church. To ascend is to bring Christ, the anointing, down (see Romans 10:6). The anointing is the baptism of fire, the latter rain that becomes the wall for the righteous, Afor I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.@25

This number, only known of God, have believed and trusted in the living presence of Jesus. AWho among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come? Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law. Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not: and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart. But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned: neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.@26 Only the redeemed walking in the Lamb will come through this door of fire. They have his name upon their forehead as the mitre of AHoliness to the Lord.@27 They will honor Jesus as Lord and Christ, as they praise the seven attributes of the living God: blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honour, power and might.

(Revelation 7:13-17)

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The multitude which no man could number, have received their reward as overcomers. They are anointed to serve the Lord day and night in his temple. They are in him and he is among them. His nature is their nature. His source is their source. The church of the Lamb has reached Athe unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature (age) of the fulness of Christ.@28 Though they are caught up to a throne realm of the spirit, they are serving in the earth realm of day and night. As they continue their walk in and with the Lamb, they will witness all sorrow wiped from their eyes.
