CHAPTER VIII

Revelation 18:1 through 19:21

The Fall of Babylon

(Revelation 18:1-8)

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

An angel of light reveals the fall of Babylon. The glory of this light reveals the depth of the darkness upon all nations which have fellowshipped with her. She symbolizes the leaven of the Pharisees and Saducees as the source of her power has been the dragon himself. Many have come out of her without getting her out of themselves. She offers prosperity as reward for those who tithe unto her. She began offering wine for blood as a covenant to her proselytes, claiming to be the queen of the coming King. >Don=t worry= she has proclaimed unto her converts, as she has promised a rapture instead of sorrow. Her doctrines have pointed out, instead of within. She preaches division instead of unity, three Gods instead of one God, confession to men instead of spirit. As the Lord comes with fire, a voice of pleading with all flesh calls for the righteous to Acome out of her@. Paul had warned, Aare ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?@1 Babylon receives double of what she has given. Her works measure her judgment.

Isaiah in prophesying of this day said, Abut these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments. For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee: and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them: they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shalt not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.@2

As her plagues come in one day death, mourning, and famine, she shall be utterly burned with fire: the first hour of the 1000 year day, approximately 42 years, will in one generation cause all flesh to know the reality of Jesus.

(Revelation 18:9-19)

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning.

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

the merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linens, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

Babylon has been the prize of Satan, the kingdoms of the earth that is passing away. She was the offering of Cain, rejected for the Lamb of Abel. She is the habitation of all that man has found, bought, grown, or created. She is the source of all lust, all pride, and all vanity, binding the souls of men.

When the arnion presents the trump (voice) of God=s righteousness in her midst, the creature (all flesh) begins to crumble. The kingdoms begin to fall as her king is consumed by the fire of the Lamb=s presence with the holy angels. She becomes desolate in the presence of the rejoicing church.

(Revelation 18:20-24)

Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

And the voice of the harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

The new heavens cleansed from the devil and his spirits rejoice as they witness the creation of the new earth. The manifestation of the sons of God, the earnest expectation of the creature bound in vanity by the fall of Adam, is realizing the hope of glory. They are witnessing the creature itself delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God (see Romans 8:18-21). The carnal mind, the source of all sorceries and witchcraft, is transformed by the renewing presence of the Lamb. Babylon which contains the blood of prophets, saints, and all that were slain upon the earth will cease from carnality only by being quickened by the Spirit of Jesus. He is the only way out and the only way in.

The Ishi and Baali

(Revelation 19:1-10)

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

And again they said, Alleluia, And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linens is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

As the old earth, with its unrighteousness, passeth away with its elements (orderly arrangements) and fervent heat (heavenly fire), a new earth appears. The voice of many waters (all of creation) declares the omnipotent Lord God reigneth. His presence in His temple, the church, manifests the glory that comes upon the wife of the Lamb. She is flesh of His flesh and bone of His bone. Her robes of fine linens is the righteousness of His presence. Hosea in revealing this time said, Atherefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi (Hebrew for Amy husband@); and shalt call me no more Baali (Hebrew for Amy Lord@). For I will take away the names of Baalim (Hebrew for Afalse gods@ or Aidols@) out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord. And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel (the Asown@ or Aseed of God@). And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, thou art my God.@3

The three levels of betrothal signified by righteousness, judgment and faithfulness, bring the church closer to His nature through each level of redemption. The Babylon of flesh is transformed and cleansed by the Ishi, or husband, through His spiritual presence. As the arnion brings the wife to the final supper, or the consuming, the full blessing of this hour is written. The angel of the brethren seeks no worship as He represents the testimony of Jesus which is the spirit of prophecy. He will no longer be called Baali, the Lord, as the saints become one with the angel of His presence.

(Revelation 19:11-16)

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The open heaven releases the armies that are riding white horses clothed in righteousness and the brightness of this multitude of overcomers who share the rod of iron and the name which no man knows but he that received it. All are attributes of the overcoming church of the arnion. The unified authority is represented by the many crowns. Jesus as both Lord and Christ is bringing the army of the Lord, symbolized by heaven=s open door, and the army of the Christ, symbolized by the white horse which reflects the ministry of Revelation 6:2. Jesus speaking through Isaiah said, AI have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.@4 Jesus took the blood of all saints upon His vesture, redeeming us with His name, declaring our bloodline as His bloodline, and making us joint heirs with Him.

The Orneon

(Revelation 19:17-21)

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

The living word shines forth in the presence of His church. His body, represented by vesture and thigh, have been found worthy to reign with Jesus. His name is their name. His authority is their authority. The heavenly fowls (in the Greek AORNEONS@), which means Abirdling@ or Anewly risen up@, are not referred to elsewhere in the new testament. The Greek word for flying animals is APETEINON@. As the arnion answers the angel of fire (sun) the anointing of the Lord=s presence begins the consuming (eating) of flesh. AFor our God is a consuming fire.@5

Ezekiel in prophesying of this time said, Aand, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God; Speak unto every feathered fowl (fowl of every wing), and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord God. And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward.@6 This time of consuming is a cleansing of all flesh and ministries as they behold the face that has been in part until now. Ezekiel was to end this prophecy with the statement, Athen shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.@7

This supper (consuming) is the latter rain that cleanses and removes the tares as the anointed arnion takes the nature of the orneon. Paul had said, Anow we see through a glass, darkly (in a riddle); but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.@8 As we behold our Lord face to face we will see our new nature. As we depart from the old earth/nature into the new earth/nature as joint heirs with Christ, the fire is before us.

Isaiah had said, Adepart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing: go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.@9 No you won=t >fly away= and a >twinkle= is not a wink but an eye full of light (stars twinkle). As we share in the glory of the hope of the church (Christ in us is the hope of glory), the anointing will flow out of the church consuming the unrighteousness of the beast and his kingdoms. The church with the latter rain anointing steps out of all bondage as they defeat the armies of Antichrist. The consuming presence of Jesus, with the spirit of His mouth and the brightness (AEPIPHANEIA@ in the Greek which means Amanifestation@) of His coming (see II Thessalonians 2:8-10) fight the flesh, deceived by the false prophets and the image and mark of the beast.

Daniel in speaking of this judgment said, AI beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.@10 Daniel revealed a continuing nature of the beast, allowed of God for a season and time. These peoples and nations will rise up against the church at a later time (see Revelation 20:8). As the church overcomes the beast and his dominions, their anointing has flowed from rain, to river, to lake. The fire of the Lord=s presence torments the beast and false prophet, as the churches blessing is torment for the unrighteous (see Revelation 14:10-11). The arnion, as orneon, reaches out for all flesh, bringing them into the safety of their presence. The church will be filled in the world=s greatest revival.

Isaiah had spoken Ain righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.@11 As the joint heirs come to the adoption, their righteousness is His righteousness.
